What is a Postpartum Mother’s Helper?

A Postpartum Mother’s Helper is a mix between a Postpartum Doula and a Nanny. Support is less than a Postpartum Doula in some areas, since seasoned Mamas are experienced with newborn care, nursing, and what to expect in the postpartum, but may need extra help caring for older children and keeping up with household chores.

This support has a heavy emphasis on providing fun, educational care for older children while preparing simple family meals (crock pot/InstantPot), and keeping up with basic household chores like laundry for the family, vacuuming, and making sure the house is clean and tidy.

My educational background and experience as a Nanny is what makes this support so special and helpful to Mamas with a newborn and older children. I provide hands-on educational childcare based on children’s ages and interests (arts & crafts, reading, fine and gross motor activities, outdoor time, fostering imaginative play, etc.)

I am an experienced Mama of three and Nanny of 5 years, supporting multiple families during the day and overnight. I would be honored to support you in this busy season of life, as I understand the importance of a good support system!

Support includes:

-Household chores (vacuuming, dishes, decluttering and wiping down counters, tidying up common areas, etc.)

-Laundry for the family, including washing bedsheets weekly

-Simple meal and snack preparation (Crockpot/InstantPot)

-Caring for older children, providing educational and hands-on childcare, so Mom can rest with baby 

-Caring for baby, so Mom can shower, sleep, and spend quality time with older children

-Pet care

-Baby wearing support and advice
